History of the Company
The Wilms family has been providing nursery and landscape services to the residents of Columbiana County for over 100 years.
It started with Jan Vet Wilms who opened the Wilms Perennial Gardens in Salem. He had two sons who followed in his footsteps – John Paul Wilms and John Haldi Wilms.
John Paul Wilms started J.P. Wilms Nursery on State Route 14 in the 1930’s. In the 1940’s, he moved his company to State Route 7 and renamed it Gwin Gary Nursery, after his two children.
John Haldi Wilms started Wilms Landscape Service in the early 1960’s. His two sons, Bill and Edwin Wilms, took over the company after his passing in 1977 and renamed it Wilms Brothers Landscape Service.
Dustin Wilms, the son of Bill Wilms, is the current owner. He has worked for the family business for over 20 years. He became partners with his father in 2010 and became the sole owner in 2016.
Dustin takes pride in running his longstanding family business. He looks forward to providing lawn and landscape services to the residents on Columbiana for many years to come.
